The yellow sand uprises as high as white cloud,
The lonely Great Wall lost amid the mountains proud.
Why should the Mongol flute complain no willows grow?
Beyond the Pass of Jade no vernal wind will blow.
Wang Zhihuan (pinyin: Wáng Zhīhuàn, 688-742) was a Chinese poet of the Tang Dynasty. He is known for his famous poem entitled “On the Stork Tower”.
