Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Shanhaiguan Pass, Old Dragon’s Head & Jiaoshan Great Wall
Hotel pick up by our experienced English Speaking tour guide and private car/van as per stated in tour itinerary. Then, you will take about 3.5 hours drive from Beijing to Shanhaiguan Pass to begin your Beijing tour. Shanhaiguan Pass is also known as The First Pass under Heaven in China. Therefore, this is a very significant location for as the first pass of the great wall in the east as well. After that, you will come to Old Dragon’s Head or in Chinese Laolongtou which serves as the starting point of the China great wall. You may enjoy approximately 30 minutes great wall hike at Laolongtou while appreciating the breathtaking scenery of Bohai from the great wall. Lunch will take place about 13:30. In the afternoon, you will proceed to Jiaoshan Great Wall via a 20 minutes drive. Jiaoshan Great wall is where you may enjoy a 3 hours great wall hiking. You will stay overnight in a 3-star hotel at Shanhaiguan Town after dinner at the entire hotel.

Day 2: Jiumenkou Great Wall & Xiaoheikou
Check out from hotel after breakfast around 8am. The tour of the day will start with a 40 minutes drive to Jiumenkou Great wall. This great wall section is very unique as there is a river flowing underneath the wall. Great wall hike for approximately 1.5 hours here is scheduled and besides that, you may also take the opportunity to visit the Great Wall Tunnel as well. According to the local people, the tunnel was constructed during Ming Dynasty for the military purpose. Anyway, the tunnel is officially stated to be built as an air-raid shelter in 1950s.
Lunch will be arranged at a restaurant not far from the site. Then, you will continue your tour to Xiaoheikou Great Wall via 1.5-2 hours drive. The destination of the drive is Mr. Liu’s home. Mr. Liu is a great wall lover who has been staying here since 2001. Upon arrival, you may take a quick glance of the village and surrounding area. Then, great wall hike on the east section of Xiaoheikou Great Wall will take place in late afternoon. In order for you to get the best sunset view on the great wall, you might need to arrive at the peak tower before the sun sets. Dinner will be arranged at Mr. Liu’s home. Tonight, you will have the opportunity to sleep on Fire-kang, a brick-made bed with a hollowed fire flue in between which is very famous in northern China.

Day 3: Xiaoheikou Great Wall Hiking
Wake up early in the morning to catch sunrise viewing from the great wall. Mr. Liu will guide you up the peak tower of the great wall in order for you to obtain the best angle of view. Then, return to Mr. Liu’s house for breakfast. Great wall hiking towards the western section of Xiaoheikou which takes approximately 4-5 hours will be taken place after breakfast. Then, you will be enjoying picnic lunch on the great wall before heading back to the village. In the afternoon, driving back to Beijing downtown and transferred you back to your hotel.
